Camden should be pretty embarrassed they got beat by some very small town white boys in their game!

The game was so close, neither team need feel embarassed.  Ignoring race, whenever a small school team beats a big school team, it's a big win for the small school.

It's interesting none of us react to the term white boys even if it were used by a black man to refer to grown men but there is no doubt the woketurd torch bearing mob would be triggered if a white person said black boys...

Maybe it is because whites were taught Sticks and Stones Would Break My Bones But Names will never Hurt me.

And it all comes down to attitude and entitlement.    Karrens and Gavaens get butt hurt for gains and attention.

And if you read the report about the refs after the game it is more disturbing.  Center ref said basket was good and the other 2 made no motions.  All 3 were headed off the court and a Camden coach approached them.  They came back on the court and after talking changed the call.  Just unfair.

NJSIAA said the game is official once officials leave the court even though they were wrong and denied the protest

The game is official once the refs leave.  Period.

First reaction is, this is not the first missed call in sports, wont be the last.  Due to great camera work, it is plainfully (plain and painfully) clear for all to see.   No doubt unfair.

That said, the refs opened a can of worms by overturning the call after Camden coach/parent was in their ear.  Hugely not good.  refs should be canned and camden coach censured for approaching ref and an investigation into bribes since the timeline was so obvious.

The NJSIAA has sucked for quite a while, and hopefully this stirs up needed reform.

Shame on NJSIAA for ducking what is clearly a bad call. Many feel it's only a highschool game, but don't understand the work and commitment that goes into these seasons.

Yep.

NJSIAA is only a HS organization, to that argument IMO is out the door.

It's group II, which is by school size.  Small town is moot, the schools are grouped into II because they are the same size enrollment.

I dont see how race is involved in the on-court play.

Just saw it on FOX News they played it and commented you be the Judge.   Not Taking any side of a bad call or not.

There's no "sides" on the call.  It's on video very clearly.  The kid scored.  Thats it.

What is up for debate is how the aftermath and bad call  should be handled.

WOW!  Fox News!  It’s definitely getting lots of attention!!  You should be able to take a side after looking at these pics of the kid shooting the ball and the clock showing .06 seconds….then 0.0 as ball is in the hoop!!

Life lesson.  Life isn't fair.  It's a bad call, but there are rules to the game that every team agreed to and the rules here are clear.  There is no question the call was wrong, there's no question Manasquan got robbed.  But follow the rules and teach/learn the life lesson that life isn't always fair.  The suggestion of a lawsuit is ridiculous.  Given the outcome, the schools and coaches should petition to change the rules for the future so perhaps a bad call can be overturned.

^ great post.  Spot on.

Blown calls happen all the time in High School sports. This is nothing new only difference is the news picked it up.

Bigger stage than run of the mill blown call and excellent video confirming it, so its beyond opinion and memory.  The basket was good.   Period.

... until they said it wasnt.

Coach from camden must have had some very special comment.   Will we ever know?

Damn.  Manasquan coach has instilled some class in those boys.  Good for him, them, school, parents.

"""

It was a typical scene after the most atypical state title run in recent memory. But a few rows up from the delirious Camden faithful, another group of spectators gave the winning team a long standing ovation. Even after the Camden players had turned to take their celebration into the locker room, these young men kept clapping — even smiling — with only the town name across some of their sweatshirts giving their identity away.

Manasquan.

Yes, that Manasquan.

The ugliest saga that New Jersey high school sports has endured in years ended with a simple gesture that gives you hope for the future — or, at the very least, a reason to smile. The players who had their championship dreams stolen by the inexplicable decision to reverse a correct call on a buzzer-beating basket in a state semifinal game were in the building to watch the team that advanced in their place win the trophy.

And when that team, Camden, defeated Newark Arts High, 69-50, in the Group 2 state final, Manasquan saluted them. The history books will show that the Warriors were losers in the 2024 tournament, but anyone who watched how they handled the controversial ending to their season know they are anything but.

“I’ve said it from the beginning: Those kids are victims, too,” Manasquan coach Andrew Bilodeau said as he stood in front of his seat. “There was a championship game today, and Camden won. We’re here to support them. I’m happy for those guys. They are the Group 2 champions.”

Manasquan didn’t make the trip to Piscataway only to cheer on Camden. In what turned out to be a cruel scheduling quirk, the Manasquan girls team was also playing for the Group 2 title in the game that immediately followed Camden-Arts. That meant hundreds of fans from the Jersey Shore town watched some or all of the game.
