My aunt had a house on Speir Avenue in Allenhurst.  4 houses from the beach.  I spent all my summers there fishing as a kid. Fished north along the high rock walls and south to Loch Arbor.  Stayed away from Asbury and Long Branch.  Although my Dad and I would go to Steven Bait and Tackle in Long Branch.

I remember back in 78 a bunch of jetty jockies gaffed some guy who tried to rob them in the middle of the night on the Asbury Jetty.   Back then Asbury was not someplace you wanted to be at night.  I fished Allenhurst and north.

I would always carry a big fillet knife when i night fished the Asbury jetties solo back then.
