who uses turkey mouth calls? need tips

After I'm done, before I put them away I rinse them and shake off the excess water. Yesterday when I started practicing again, they sounded horrible. Then I noticed the latex reeds were all stuck together. I had to pry them apart (carefully) with tweezers. They are back to sounding normal after I fixed that.

So how do you keep turkey mouth calls clean, but not get the reeds to stick together?

wash with hot water in between each reed then put two flat tooth picks in between them I usually snap the tooth pics in half. be sure to clean in between the reeds and the call if not your gonna get a lot of sore throats
