Poll added to get an idea of the interest level in a contest.  If we get enough I can fire something up!

I never field dress the bears. Much easier and cleaner to skin them whole the same day.

So we have a difference of opinion on whether to have field dressed weight or not.  We have some time to kick this around as the season for them doesn't start until October 10th, but keep this topic active and bring up questions/issues if we want to see something happen with a contest here.

So far, the rough rules I'm seeing are:

• Bears from NJ only
• Bears can be taken with any legal weapon in any legal season
• Bears must be field dressed
• Bears must be weighed in at an official weigh station with a certified scale
• Picture of bear and scaled weight must be included in submission
