HH , I shoot similar set up on two different rifles , both 06 , one has VX-3 2.5 x 8 x 36 and the other fully tuned with a Timney and pillar bedded Hogue stock has a VXR 4 x14 x 40 lighted reticle .

I shoot Hornady 165 SST 's out of both without having to reload, awesome , accurate and with correct shot placement just anchors them . Haven't trailed one in NC yet ...

I just picked up a Remington 700 XCR II in .30-06 caliber. I'm looking for scope and mount recommendations.   I bought the gun to hunt northern NH clear cuts that can go out 200 or more yards. The
