Winter Rye?

Hi Guys, anyone know where I could purchase some winter rye in NJ? I know of a few mail orde seed stores, but I would just like to go pick it up. Thanks!

I'd imagine places like Agway would carry it.

Another option, I know the NJDFW plants winter rye in WMAs in central/south NJ. Could always give them a call and see where they get it?

 

What area are you from, since you want to drive to pick it up?

I know this thread is a year old, but usually around late August, September you can usually buy Winter Rye at Agway. If you are any where near New Egypt area, the Agway there has a pretty good food plot selection.

I remember when they used to plan Winter Rye on WMAs down here in South NJ.  Haven't seen it done in a long time now, haven't looked the last couple years.  Definitely is a nice draw for deer onto the WMAs.

I called Agway in New Egypt, they said they expect rye first week of September

they used to plant that in zone 37 natural resources did I know the man who did it for years but with the budget cuts on the base they stopped that program.worst mistake they did it kept alot of deer on the base instead of them venturing off unto private property and getting hammered by the farmer permit guys
