American Toad

Recommended Posts

Of course, I wasn't really looking for them.  My son is back from college and wanted to go for a hike.  So off we went to look for one of the only northern NJ snakes that I seemingly cannot find (yes, I am ashamed of myself).  I have had colleagues find them on the same survey day, I have seen then so freshly run over that they are still moving, but that's it.

Its so freaking dry that all we managed was a ring-neck sheltering with the millipedes.

But just on happenstance, we came across this ............

And it was a fine specimen.

That's it, its over until it rains .....................  I'd rather work at Walmart then get forced into the field to survey herps, until it rains.

How'd you find that pic of me?

Intarweb. Plus I wrote this neat C++ algorithm, because, you know, perl, Java, and php are just scripting languages, and, you know, anybody, can do that, but it's more practical and impressive to use a language that requires strict syntaxing and an object compiler...

Sapere aude.

Audeamus.

When you cannot measure, your knowledge is meager and unsatisfactory.
