Buying a pistol

So I am buying a pistol from a friend who lives 7 miles away from me, but the Delaware River is between us!!!  I am in NJ and he is in PA.  Does he have to go to a PA FFL and ship it to my NJ FFL or can we walk into NJ FFL together to fill out transfer paperwork?

Your friend from PA can't bring that handgun into NJ. It has to ship FFL to FFL.  Or, if your FFL likes you, he may go get it on his own and bring it back to NJ and then complete the transfer
