Best ice auger

I love to ice fish. In past few years there has been some neat innovations, specifically in terms of augers. I grew up w a Jiffy and loved it. However, it was heavy, I got covered in gas, & the fuel/oil gets expensive. 

As a result looked into other options and In my opinion here is the best:

Cordless drill: Either Dewalt dcd 996 or Milwaukee m18 (both brushless)...no others. 

Clam Corp adapter plate.

Nils/clam adapter 

Auger: Nils or k-drill. 

Absolutely a game changer. We drilled 30 plus holes in 6 inches of ice and used 1/3 of a battery.

I run a Dewalt 20v with Clam adapter plate and 7” Lazer drill bit. I like having the high rpms and dual sharp blades. 
If you show up tomorrow we’ll have a showdown! Lol 😝

Nicks rig cuts some fast holes and never even slowed down last Saturday. Sure is easier than my hand auger !

The way to go. My buddy uses same system. Effortless and long lasting, just bring an extra battery as a backup.
