It's amazing how when they get that size, they look so much like a brown trout.   In fact - I am not 100% convinced this big salmon was not a brown trout, there is just enough fork in the tail to convince me it's 100%  a landlock salmon. 

Look at this brown my son caught out of same lake, before they stocked Landlocks.   Now they no longer stock the lake with browns just rainbows and landlocks.  Although it's half the size at about 4 lbs, very similar marking and tail.   Damn I looked young in 2006, and now this boy is 21!
