Black duck bag limit now 2

As fall is fast approaching, I was checking the new waterfowl regs and was happy to see that black duck bag limit has been raised to 2. Hopefully this trend of growth will continue and the limit doesn't have to be reduced again.

The limit was raised not due to an increase in the number of black ducks but rather due to a decrease in black duck harvest due to decrease in the number of hunters.

Because NJ is the number one wintering place for Black Ducks on the Atlantic flyway. The last time we had a two bird limit on Black ducks was during the point system, the limit was changed in the early 80's due to decreasing numbers. If you hunt the mosquito ditches and small tidal ponds on the out going tide you can fill your boat with the snail eaters.
