Flash of light upstate NY

Anyone hunt around the Ostego County NY area opening day Saturday? Saw a quick flash of light from the west sort of like a camera flash. I thought it was another hunters flashlight but when I got back to hotel everyone was talking about it.

I looked online and can't find anything about it.  A few years ago they launched a rocket down in Maryland and it had the whole east coast buzzing.  It was just after dark and suddenly this amazingly bright light started rising straight up from the horizon and then suddenly just disappeared.  I was baffled until I saw it in the news.

Saturday morning there was a shooting star that lit up the morning. I told my daughter to make a wish..I think she wished for a fun day of walking around scaring deer to other properties

I don't know if it was the same one but me and 3 other friends were set up for goose in a field before light Saturday morning and we saw one of the brightest shooting stars/meteor go across the sky. That was right around 6am. This was in cenral Jersey

Yea I saw it. Thought it was a nearby game camera. I was in new lisbon. We're you hunting next to me? My buddy & I both saw it clearly but 5 other guys with us didn't??
