With the sheer number of fry/baitfish out there there are more flies I could tie!  Try some for the fish in your area and adjust the overall color using the chenille base and the bucktail halo combo for the final color.  Good luck and I'd LOVE to see what you come up with.  You can use any hooks but I used either the Mustad 3366 or 9674 straight eye designs - depending on the fishes profile.  I can see a Threadfin Shad on a 3366 using silver chenille and maybe sub'ing some dark blue saltwater Krystal flash as the back instead of bucktail.

Have fun!  That's what I've been doing for over 50 years!
