Little Egg Harbor Massacre Pulaski Boulevard and Kosciouskl Way, Little Egg Harbor Township 08087

Upon hearing of the impending attack on Chestnut Neck, General Washington dispatched Brigadier General Casimir Pulaski and a force of roughly 350 men to aid in the defense of the town. Unfortunately, they arrived too late, and so set up camp near Tuckerton. A small outpost on the fringes of the camp was completely decimated by an attack in the early morning of October 15, 1778. The remainder of Pulaski’s forces counter-attacked and drove back the British raiders. The timely arrival and defensive fortitude of Pulaski’s men saved the Batsto Iron Works from destruction during this raid.

And that's how we got Pulaski meat market in Linden and Ksciuszko Bridge in NY:-) Two Poles who fought for our independence. Love US history!!
