Other than a Chainsaw ?

I think most of us can agree that a chainsaw is probably one of the best tools for habitat management, but what comes in second ?

Mink, to answer your question seriously, I guess it would depend entirely on which species you are managing for.  The chainsaw is an excellent answer as is controlled burn, herbicides on invasive plants, planting native vegetation, and others.  Depends on what the end goal is.  I just wish it weren't so damned difficult in this state.  I'm growing weary from the fight against the tree huggers trying to stop any conservation group from doing effective habitat management projects.  It is not like this in other states.  My business partners both live in Montana and cannot believe the crap they see when in NJ.
