estate sale

Anyone know the ins and outs , percentages etc. of an estate sale?  My dad is moving and has a lot of great  stuff for sale, being in construction for over 6 decades, a commercial fisherman etc.  there will be good deals but he does not need the money so things will not be given away.  Also we don't want someone to sell the stuff cheap just to get their commission.  once I get a list of items I will post them, I know he has a tractor and similar stuff.

We looked into it a few years ago when my in-laws passed.  They quoted a sizable amount of money. I can understand that because they put in a lot of work.  When they looked around, they said there were no real winners but they would do it anyway. We did our own and made out fine.  The people are from Cranford and the guy is a hunter and big fisherman.  That's why we called him.  Qet a few quotes but be careful.
