Depends on the size of the baitfish I'm imitating. A size 6 or better a size 4 3-5 XL is a good start.

Thanks- I m thinking saltwater stripers- 1/0 and 2/0 hooks- should work, only one way to find out though

Sounds right to me and since these patterns are tied with matching pairs of feathers they can lend themselves to the longer hooks.
