New To Bear Hunting looking for advice!

Hi everyone, me and a buddy are thinking about hunting the last 2 days of the December season we are avid deer hunters and small game hunters never hunted bear before I live in Salem county and he is in Burlington county. Also thinking about doing zone 1&2 I believe that is sussex county. With that being said we are looking for some pointers and just a general area of where we should be

My son in law hunted bears in the Newark Watershed this year and was on multiple bears every day.  He didn't bait or sit in a stand, he still hunted, and had nonstop action.

The December season really depends on the weather.  If we get snow that week my advice would be to hike the woods until you cut some tracks, then follow them.
