Dogs and spotted lanternfly

Recommended Posts

They are not poisonous if eaten.  They could however , like any other critter if eaten in excess, cause mild gastrointestinal symptoms in your pup such as diarrhea.  This is usually due to the animal’s inability to digest chitin, the primary protein in an insect’s exoskeleton.  One or a few won’t be a concern, but I’d make sure he/she doesn’t eat their fill of them.
