Fred Flintstone
With this Summer like Weather ,I see some Trees with their Leaves unfolding already as of yesterday- April 12th. I know most Turkey Hunters would rather have a Thin Tree Top Canopy at the most on the opening day of Spring Turkey Season. We will see in the next 12 Days. Both Today and Friday will feel like Summer. Yesterday, I Mowed the 1/2 Mile Sewer Line with a Push Mower. Grass is coming up heavy already. First Day also,I was out with Shorts and a Tee Shirt. Back when,I Turkey Hunted Pike County/ Pennsylvania for 20 Straight Springs- the Tree Top Canopy was almost always bare on the Turkey Opener. And of course Gobbling can be heard further with a Thin Tree Top Canopy. And the Direction Tracked much easier even by a Novice. Once the Tree Top Canopy is Fully Developed or nearly so- an army of us have busted that Gobbler off his Roost as we meandered too close. More Mowing today and a early Scout before this August Heat breaks out. Take The Multiple Use Area Challenge.
Eyesofthewoods
Don’t really care too much about the tree tops more so the ground vegetation. First week of season my range is 50yds by the last week it’s like 25 lol. I like to be able to see them clearly.
