What is this?

I took my war eagle out for a ride today, when I got back to the ramp I found this aluminum metal piece on the ground by the steering console 

She ran fine no issues but still want to put it back where it goes.

Looks like  a bracket from compass.

It's either from a compass or possibly from one of the gauges

There isn’t a compass.

my gauges are in the dash 

but maybe held in underneath with that.
