Axiom
OK.. So I know a person from one State can sell their shot gun to another person in another State as long as its done through an FFL dealer in the State where the gun is being purchased ( Federal law) ... However, my question is this... Do I need ...1) A NJ Purchasers ID card to sell my weapon.. ( yes I know that's an oxymoron but this is after all NJ.. which is full of morons) . and 2).. Are there any other state mandated requirements other than the Federal requirements I have already mentioned
BowhunterNJ
Good question, I'm honestly not sure...I'm used to buying, not selling

Axiom
2. Long gun purchases by ....A. NJ resident from ........(1) NJ dealer = NICS check with a FPID, COE and Photo ID ........(2) NJ resident = face to face with a FPID, COE with Photo ID suggested ........(3) Out-of-state dealer = NICS check with a FPID, COE and Photo ID ........(4) Out-of-state resident = must be transferred through ............a. NJ dealer = NICS check with a FPID, COE and Photo ID or ............b. Out-of-state dealer = NICS check with a FPID, COE and Photo ID ....B. Non-resident from ........(1) NJ dealer = NICS check with a FPID, COE and Photo ID ........(2) NJ resident = must be transferred through ............a. NJ dealer = NICS check with a FPID, COE and Photo ID or ............b. Out-of-state dealer = consult buyer's home state laws hmmm.. So it appears, at least in the year 2009, an out of State private sale with the seller being a NJ resident and the buyer residing in another State, the seller only needs to comply with federal regulations and the state laws in the State where the purchase is being made.. Being that was the law in 2009, I wonder if that is still the case today.. Cant trust the law makers to be consistent.. they're always trying to turn someone into a criminal.. BTW thanks for the link HH...
Haskell_Hunter
The short answer is to go through an FFL in the state where the buyer lives. Have the buyer find a local FFL, arrange to meet there, some quick paperwork, you're compliant with all laws, and you're done. Sapere aude. Audeamus.
