Coleman 1850 Generator Stator

Recommended Posts

I have a stator for a Coleman 1850 generator. It will also fit a Coleman Pulse 1850 and a Coleman Sport 1850. There were thousands of these made but they are no longer in production and parts are hard to come by. I no longer have the generator so I don't need the part. Asking $100. Located in Northern NJ, send PM if interested.

single phase, three phase? it might just be worth it to scrap it for the copper.

i install and remove many stators a week( ranging from 3 horsepower-100 horsepower) and all need to be removed and installed with extreme heat. we use a rose bud that generates 3,000+ degrees in order to expand the stator housing (very quick) in order for it to be dropped or installed. i do not know if generators are the same, maybe they have set screws that hold them, i dont know.

PM me and i know an electric motor shop we deal with that may buy the stator from you. given that the stator ohms and meggors good. otherwise they will buy it for the copper and rewind the stator.

before selling it, you can ohm the stator. i can show you how, if you let me know how many stator leads it has and if it has thermals to check continuity. all stators leads should be within 10% to insure that it is still balanced. even if it worked when it was removed, doesnt mean it works after sitting around moisture and the elements.

It works, piece of cake to remove. Was held in place by long bolts and lock nuts. I bought it thinking I needed it but it turned out to be a broken wire which I fixed easily.  I don't have the generator anymore so have no use for it. I will probably scrap it but I hate getting rid of things that someone may be able to use. Recharging a stator is easy also
