Have you ever been out with a thunderstorm approaching or during one & had birds gobbling at the thunder?  i recall once & thought it was pretty cool for some reason...

Shock gobbles. Owl hoot, crow call, anything gets them to gobble. Kind of stupid on their part. Gives them away. The jury is out as to whether they are smart or dumb.  It makes hunters feel good if they call them smart.

Yes. Maybe if there are leftover permits and I have free time I'll hunt. It's about 1/2 mile from my house.
