Raccoon Ridge

My wife and I hiked to Raccoon Ridge today to take part in the hawk count.  We hiked in from Camp Mohican.  Hike in took 1.5 hours.  We weren't in a big hurry (no wind, nice blue skies).  A little less on the hike back out (more downhill).  Hiking up from Old Mine Road is quicker but straight up the ridge and a real test for the legs and heart.  No flight today.  Had it been late November with overcast skies and a stiff NW wind, I prolly would have ran to the Ridge.

It's a beautiful area! I like the overlook looking back towards blairstown.

 

 

In other news can you come get the hawks that have already captured and killed 6 of my pigeons?

I wanted to hike it prior to then, just to make sure I knew what I was doing.  I hadn't been up there in a few years.
