RPK0620
I try to run my GSP 3 to 4 times a week for extended periods of an hour or more. I do get her out daily for short periods of exercise. On the extended runs I wear a Camelbak which carries more than enough water for her while we are out. However, I was wondering if anyone here uses or recommends a hydration supplement that would be added to the water that might be better than plain water ? Thanks in advance. I thought, growing old would take longer ! I spent most of my money on shotguns and fly rods. The rest I just wasted.
outdoorslife
I cant recommend anything for you and your pup but, I tried using this... https://www.gundogsupply.com/techmix-k9-bluelite-instant-hydration-mix.html for Remi but she is picky and wont really touch it. If you want to give it a shot with your dog, you're more than welcome to take the rest from me. I may give this another try with her if you pass on the offer. RPK0620
Guys, Thanks for your responses and the offer. Since I made this post, I did a lot of looking around on some of the gun dog forums and it seems that a good diet and a meal at a minimum of 12 hours before hunting and then plenty of water before, during and after a hunt or run is really all that is needed. And of course rest afterwards. outdoorslife 1 I thought, growing old would take longer ! I spent most of my money on shotguns and fly rods. The rest I just wasted.
