The leatherwall over on bowsite has a first shot post everyday.  I enjoy following along and that first cold shot is the one that counts.  

We should consider doing something like that here too.  Someone calls the shot for the day and people following along share their results.

Its fun to try different stances, distances, angles, obstructions....etc.

Nice shot but, the holes outside of the vitals is an area of concern..

 

In the interest of FULL DISCLOSURE - this was my next 8 shot group. The first shot was borderline gut/liver.  I did break the balloon again on the 4th shot, but there were far too many outliers and once again, the confidence level  in hunting without training wheels plummeted.  Only 4 out of the 8 would have been probable kill-recovery shots. The rest would have been "wait and pray".  Gotta practice more to get this instinctive shooting thing down, but every now and then when it feels right and the shot comes together, it is much more rewarding feeling than hitting a quarter at 20 yards with the compound.

It's never going to be perfect.  Forget about what you can do with the high tech machinery or a 30/06...
