BowTechExperience Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 (edited) For those interested in competive archery, there is going to be a reality tv show, It premiers on 7-26 at 1:00pm on NBC Sports. There is actually a guy from Jersey on it. Maybe someone knows him. Steven Gatto from Hammmonton NJ. "Nock Out is a competitive reality TV show for field, 3D, and target archery. Archers compete in both team and individual events, and at the end of the season one archer is named the Nock Out Champion. Premieres week of July 22nd, 2013 on NBC Sports." http://www.nockout.tv/tv-show/contestants/laurie-leroy/ Edited July 20, 2013 by BowTechExperience
Matty Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Has anyone been watching this? I love two things about the show.....Archery and Nikki Haverstock....So yes, I've been watching. LOL I missed the 2nd episode, but I've got them set to record now. Fridays, 1pm NBC sports. You can actually watch the Pilot and 1st episode online: http://www.nockout.tv/videos/pilot-video/ Maybe I can try out for next season. “I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target, but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature’s way of fang and claw and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow.” – Fred Bear
Cousin Brown Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Good show! Treestands don't demand, treestands don't complain, treestands simply ask me to sit down and listen.
BowTechExperience Posted August 16, 2013 Author Posted August 16, 2013 Glad to see anything archery on tv. Does anyone know the back story with one of the contestants Rowdy ( Kyle ) Dowdy. Supposedly he photoshoped a hunter out of a pic and inserted himself and claimed to have shot the bear in Alaska. Surprised the show producer would allow someone with this much controversy on a show..
Matty Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I heard about this and saw the pic, and heard it was confirmed to be a fake.....I'm also pretty sure he was banned from AT and supposedly in the past has claimed to be a Navy Seal wounded in Afghanistan. I know nothing more than that though and I'm not sure how factual that all is. The bear is confirmed fake though....as there are also other angles of the bear and real hunter online. I would guess the producers of nock out didn't know at the time of casting? Or maybe figured the controversy would draw ratings. “I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. BowTechExperience Posted August 16, 2013 Author Posted August 16, 2013 (edited) Amazing what people will do to kill or claim to kill an animal. In my opinion, it takes away the credibility of the show. He should be editied out of the show like he did to the real hunter who killed that bear. Edited August 16, 2013 by BowTechExperience
Matty Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I agree. I would love to see him edited out of the show. Of course, he survived another week even though he shot like poo. I can't wait until he gets "NOCKED OUT"! “I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued.
