aluminum or graphite

Aluminum vs. Carbon is more a personal choice.

Aluminum arrows can bend. If you like heavier arrows, this might be a good choice, plus stripping fletching off the shaft to refletch does not damage or wear down the shaft.

Carbon is either straight or they break. They can be heavy or very light depending on the GPI (grain per inch ).

Aluminum with Carbon can bend and the bend will set. The advantage I see with this combo is that we can shoot ultra thin arrows but still retain total mass weight because the carbon core can be wrapped with aluminum ( think FMJ arrows ) to maintain a lower GPI, but it can also go the other way, a very thin aluminum core wrapped with carbon. ( ACC and such ).

Both aluminum and carbon arrows can run tolerances down to .001 in straightness. Aluminum over carbon and carbon over aluminum typically sport a .002..

This software will let you demo it to figure out what spine and or shafts you need for your setup.. I personally use Archers Advantage because I've had it forever.
