8pt down

Recommended Posts

Went out tonight to my zone 10 spot in hopes to get a buck on an exciting hunt, and that's just what happened.

This buck closed the 200 yard gap between me and him with only a few min of shooting time left. He was chasing does, and decided to b line it to the bait pile right before dark.

Been passing smaller bucks all season, but this one just felt right.

Nice one Jay! Things are heating up! Bucks starting to cruise and even chase around a little!

Congratulations Jay. What stopped the full pass-through?

Lol the rage. But that's ok, he went from 20 yards behind me to 10 yards in front of me and dropped ;) when he stopped I couldn't see him, but i could hear the blood pouring our hitting the leaves on the ground

Pass through shots are only needed for good blood trails for tracking anyway. Every deer I hit with the rages drop in sight, or I hear them crash if it's a thicker spot ;)

The "quartering away" shot has and always will be my favorite angle. You can actually get liver lung heart all in one. The added bonus is the deer is usually  looking away from you.
