Welcome to NJ Woods & Water, Introduce Yourself!

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

Been in Jersey since 2003, my main thing is Bowhunting but last year started back up with upland birds. Belong to UBNJ and have met some great people here while being involved with them. Hoping to get back into waterfoul this fall.

Welcome! UBNJ is a great organization! I help Eamon out from time to time with their site.

Then you need to update the site with the end-of-the-summer 3D thingy.

I did the life UBNJ this year.  Was a good year for business, so it was time to spread it around.  I'm also too lazy to renew anything so...

Cool, I'm a life member as well

Likewise, it was easier than renewing every year :D

Here's the end of summer 3D shoot they have: http://www.ubnj.org/2016-06-22-17th-annual-bowhunters-jamboree--3-d-championship-august-27th--28th

Saw this site mentioned on the "other" site and thought I would come over and see how it is. Have heard nothing but good about it and see a lot of names I know.

Welcome to the site!

Rest assured we have an automatic Chinese and Russian to English translator in place to convert posts...no worries!

j/k, you won't see many issues like that here :)

By the way, you're allowed to mention other sites here, you won't get a time-out.  It's the new owners of New Jersey Hunter (see I said it) that freak out over such things.

Haha, yeah none of that happens here to members or businesses or sponsors (which are FREE BTW).

Liberty to say what you want as long as your life mission isn't to just spam one detracting thing all the time :)

If you do that, we lock you in a room with Axiom for 24 hours...if that doesn't convince you to never want that to happen again, I don't know what will!

I do things just to spite people sometimes.  I think they call it "trolling".

I like this place, highly recommended if you're in the area.  I eat there at least once a month.

Hey Haskell, is that just a to go place or a nice dining joint with tables and umbrella drinks?

I wish they had cool umbrellas.  They do a very good To-go business but have tables and booths.  Not gourmet Chinese food by any means, but you get decent portions and you can eat a lot of it.  People are real nice.

I do have to complain about the fortunes in the fortune cookies.  I think they have a new fortune writer and they're not as good as they used to be.  Next time I'm there I'll be sure to complain.  But on the bright side, they do come with lucky numbers, and I am holding out faith that it will bring me retirement-like fortune.

Bob, what part of the state you from?   Hunter?  Fisherman?

I see a bird dog avatar!  :fudd:

Live in Clarksburg which is near Assunpink WMA. Primarily a bird hunter at Colliers Mills, Assunpink, Greenwood and on my clubs semi-wild.  I occasionally will deer hunt and that can be with a shotgun or a flintlock. And have done some turkey & coyote hunting which amounted to a nice time in the woods and sightings but no shot opportunities,  I used to do a lot of fly fishing, both fresh and salt water but not any more. The dog in my avatar is a 2 year old GSP and this will be our second season together which I am really looking forward to.  I am retired and that makes for lots of time afield.
