Welcome to NJ Woods & Water, Introduce Yourself!

Recommended Posts

Thought I'd unlock this and give it a bump for new members to start adding to a running thread instead of individual threads.

I see a few new joins now that the NJ bowhunting season has started!

Welcome to the site and good luck this season!

Hi my name is John. I was born and raised in New Jersey and never lived any where else. I have been hunting in this state for 37 years now. I hunt in Zone 8 which is in Hunterdon County. Shot my best buck back in 2012. I also hunt at my parent's farm down in Virginia. I mostly gun and muzzy hunt but, when I get the time, I do try to go out and hunt with the bow.

Hello, my name's John. I live in Warren County. I fish, shoot (haven't hunted in years) and hike quite a bit. Love the outdoors. Looking for the ice to break in order to get the boat in the water. Also looking forward to some striper action this spring.

Is this like an AA meeting for hunters and anglers?  "Hi, my name is Brian and I'm a hunter and an angler".  All: "Hi Brian"  :)

Welcome to the newbies to the site.  Tarhunt, that's a heck of a buck!

I'm Matt...

I'm 33 but my body feels like it's 150 years old and I'm mentally and emotionally about 7.

Besides hunting, fishing, trapping and shooting, I like....ummm...Nope that's about it. lol Well actually there's also taxidermy, wood-working and playing guitar.

Here's a list of things I used to do for fun but can't now:

Ride Motorcycles (dirt and street)

Goaltender hockey (ice and roller)

Baseball (catcher, 3rd base)

Weightlifting

Running

Here's a list of things I do without any fun involved:

Work on rusted vehicles.

Yardwork

Housework

General home maintenance.

Wash clothes and dishes

Bathe

Shovel Snow

Rake leaves

Clean gutters

Learn to use technology

etc

Hi!  I'm Courtnie.  I joined this forum because I have a 130 lb puppy (yes, he still has growing to do, lol) and some hunters offered me deer at the beginning of the season for him, but none of them have panned out.  So I guess I'm hoping some of you have unwanted/freezer-burned venison (or squirrel, or groundhog, or whatever) that you would otherwise be throwing in the trash that I could have for my boy.  Venison is his favorite thing in the world. :) I know I can't legally buy venison from a hunter, but I would be happy to pay you for your gas/travel time to harvest or something.  I hope this isn't obnoxious of me, but I figure it can't hurt to ask.  Anyway, happy new year!

Welcome to the site Courtnie! :welcome:

Hopefully someone can work out an exchange with you if they have any leftover meat they're willing to part with.

What part of the state are you from, so others can gauge the distance?
