New Mexico Pronghorn

Recommended Posts

Typical New Mexico Pronghorn hunt just outside of Corona , N.M. Fly in Friday night hunt Saturday and Sunday and home on Monday. Shot this guy at 180 yards with a Weatherby Ultra LightWeight in 270 Weatherby Mag. I used a 130 gr Nosler Ballistic tip. Never again. Blew my cape apart. Fun hunt, in and out.

Might as well have used an RPG, good graces and holy moly!!

Congrats though!

Going with a replacement cape?

I really don't know much about pronghorns but that seems to have great width (if that matters), great length, and hard to see the cutters but they look good. Right? What's an antelope like that score?

Spread doesn't come into play with goats.

The biggest factor that comes into play is the mass.

Great mass with just an average 12 inch horn can raise the score to the mid 70's or even higher.
