Crossbow doe

Shot a buck this year that puzzled me too. Perfect heart shot at 20 yds. The deer walked off calmly, twitching it's tail. Every time it stopped, I was expecting it to go down.  Well about 100 yds later and a blood trail like you would not believe I found it. Cannot understand how it made it that far calmly walking. Running maybe.
