Crossbow doe

I shot this doe the other night.  I had her lined up broadside at 20 yds, but she turned at the shot and I hit her way forward.  I couldn't believe it when she turned and I saw the bolt not pass through.  The shot broke the leg bone and buried in the opposite shoulder, but she still ran pretty far.  There was a fantastic blood trail and I expected to find her much closer, but she went about 300 yds.  Goes to show something can go wrong even on a chip shot.

Chip shots are in golf. A short usually low approach shot in golf that lofts the ball to the green and allows it to roll. Most don't even make it in the cup.

In football they use the term for short and easy field goals. We know how some of those turn out.

It happens. I had a buck do the same thing. Bolt went the entire length of body and buried in his inside hip bone. I skewered him, got heart, liver etc. He went less than 50 yards. You probably only got one lung hence why she went aways before expiring. Congrats. And I use the hypodermic as well.
