Winter gloves?

I use the light gloves with the bow release hole in conjunction with a waist hand warmer. Less noise and movement with the hand warmer and if you throw a chemical warmer in there sometime my hands will start sweating. I have tried to customize some heavier winter gloves by cutting a hole for the release but overall wasn't very happy with how they felt. Might work for you though.

I don't have a specific glove recommendation, I usually use fingerless gloves regardless of how cold it is.  I wear these underneath my gloves, and it's insane how warm my hands can stay.

Real cheap to buy.  They also have long johns, balaclavas, and socks.  I use them all when I hunt in northern NH, and I'm usually never cold.

Actually, these liners are better.

You have options.

Do you use their Long johns? I would like to find some thin stuff to wear under my sweats when it's cold. I used to wear pants but sweats under my bibs are so much more comfortable to sit in all day.

Yes, I do.  I use most of this stuff as my bottom layer.

I hunt in northern NH with a buddy every year.  I texted him yesterday to ask him if I needed to pick him up some of this stuff for this year's trip.  I got him the shirt and pants one year as a gift, and he's hooked on it.

Search for the term "thermawool".  That's the warmest they have.  The company that makes it is Terramar.

They have a ton of stuff, but the Thermawool is the warmest.  I have used some of the lighter stuff too as an extra layer for fall bow hunts.  I also just noticed that they have their own scent-free stuff, but I've never used it.

  • 1 month later...

I don't use gloves at all not matter the temperature.   Only a muff tied around waist....to warm the hands occasionally... I've always found that gloves make my hands colder.    And I had a accidental misfire once trying to shoot a pheasant with gloves on.........your hands get used to the temperature.............and don't hold the gun by the metal parts..........
