The 'A' should represent army, but I can't find anything else on it either.

So I’m working a project to recreate a WW2 uniform based on photos/discharge papers as well as patches/medals found (as the original uniform was dissembled). I’m sourcing authentic pieces to replace what is missing. Here is what I’m looking to create when all is said and done:

Awesome.  I'd love to do something like that in order to commemorate my Grandfather.

Unfortunately I never knew how amazing of a war story he had and what an absolute hero he was until after he passed away.  He was always so happy and light-hearted and only told us kids funny war stories. I wish I had the opportunity to speak with him now that I'm interested in things like this.
