NJWW Fluke Trip out of Neptune/Belmar

Recommended Posts

Official Date of Trip:   Monday 08/27/2018, 6:30AM Departure (arrive by 6:00AM)

I will try and organize this - preferably a weekday in August.  I prefer the Last Lady II for this sort of thing - it's small enough to keep it fun and easier to organize. It's a 41 foot custom walk-around / fish-around.

http://lastladyfishing.com/charterfishingrates.htm

We have two choices - reserve a Tuesday open boat slot at $65 a person, or charter it ourselves

I would say if we can get 10 or more - we charter with a max of 15.

If we get 9 or less, we should reserve a slot on a Tuesday open boat (15 fares max).

Please let me know if you are a serious candidate and best day of week for you.

If we do a charter, and get 15 fares it will cost $900 plus $55 x 5 more fares $275), so total of $1,17 (plus 20% tip for mate(s) so another $235 for a total of $1,410.    Divided by 15 fares that is $94 a person, so in reality a smaller group reserving a Tuesday is cheaper, but still figure $100 each for our own private charter still isn't too bad.

Ralph is  good guy and good fisherman - a good time will be had!

Im strapped for time off of work for multiple reasons so Im out if its a weekday. I dont blame ya for setting it up on a weekday. If we charter it could we do a weekend day? If so, count me in

I will probably set minimum for charter at 9, that would be $100 a head plus $20 tip each.

So far we have:

JHbowhunter, LPJR, Swamprat, Maximus66, BowhunterNJ, Vdep217, Codaboy, Live to Hunt, Lphunsjr.

Looks like we already have 9 for a charter, figure Buck154 will probably be in as well.  I already emailed Ralph for open dates.

I fished off of asbury yesterday, and the trigger fish was taking v chunks out of the back of the minnows, in 20-30 feet of water and chewing up the silver and black 3 inch soft plastic finess fish.

10 fares so far.  I am holding a spot for Buck154 as well so figure 4 spots left. ( I will ask for paypal to hold boat I think we will have to put something down. TBD)

DBUCK - 15 passengers is the limit.  Looks like this will fill up fast.

well I was figuring we would do a pool, so yes, without question trip will be covered and then some...

Also - us northerners can probably car pool.   Boat will leave 6, 6:30, or 7am... Will be up to us to decide.

Depending on date and time, I may be able to fill in the last slot.  Only went for fluke once, so I'd need fillin in on what to bring, besides taylor ham.

I don't want to keep somebody else from going, though.

My son also has a bluefish charter trip booked for sept 29 if anyone is interested, at night, on the golden eagle.  Looking  to get 40, and has 27 now.  Big boat, all included for $125(6'subs, tip, poles, prizes and/or 50/50, or rebate if we get a lot of people and money is left over.)  Lot of law enforcement going.

reply from Captain Ralph  - "Have weekends and  weekdays available.  I would book last week of August
or the dates in Sept till closing.  Last year the last 2 weeks of the
season were the best and then we could not fish for them.  We have more
time now.  Last year those 2 weeks were some of the best with a lot of
nice fluke(4-8lbs) for all the customers.  I have a lot of dates open
during that time./  Let me know what dates you would be interested in

Ralph"

I think I will target last week August or first week September (before bow opener).
