Pretty disappointed it’s a button, Mom will run him out of  the area this fall.

Not unless you "harvest" her in Sept.

I’ve done it before, but more worried after that another Mom will take him in, and then still kick him out. I’ve seen does take other does young. I think it’s an awesome looking deer though.

I wouldn't worry about that. By sept he is old enough to fend for himself and if you take momma chances are he will stick around.  If you don't she will definitely push him out.

Cool looking buck.  Yearling bucks tend to not disperse to new areas if mom is no longer around.  Just saying.  :D

I honestly think it’s a tough decision, I’d pursue he one buck first and if the piebald was around I’d take it, probably never see a deer like that again. The mom id like to let her keep reproducing never know what she’ll put Out maybe more piebalds

My buddy knows the area, he’s telling me if I don’t take him someone else will the first year. Highly hunted area

Realistically it’s a 1-30000 deer, and how rare is a 12 pointer. Depends on how I feel at the time if the deer shows up I guess. I’m too worried about being knocked over it but I shouldn’t be if I take it and enjoyed the hunt that’s what matters.

Schwack. That deer qualifies/fills your EAB tag. If word gets out about him you may have trespassers.

Schwack him. Get some good eating venison. Get his hide tanned. That would be my plan.
