Iron Butt Ride

Been away some time, way too busy with house and yard work,  end of kid sports and school year, you all know the story  lol.

Anyways took some time out to complete my first Iron Butt Ride.

Wound up doing the Bun Burner 1,500. Which is 1,500 miles in 36 hours.

Ride covered 1,601 miles and was completed in 34 hours and 4 minutes.

Planned ride went like this, left Washington NJ at 4:47am Friday and rode to Bangor Maine to see Paul Bunyan statue and Stephen king's house  plus have a lobster roll for lunch and come home.

Minus the 3 hours of rain (weather forecast said perfect) WTF

Always made to Clinton at 10:49pm with 1,039 miles on my bike, buddy had about 50 more than me so i said screw it and rode up to Allentown PA and back for the extra miles. Pulled into driveway at 12:12am with 1,101 miles on bike.

Put it in garage showered and went to sleep.

Woke up 4:30am washed the bike so i could see out of the windshield and was back on it at 5:30am, met my buddy in Scranton PA and went over ride plans Paulski seemed to work out on mileage and we were off.

By 9:30 we were in Port Ontario having breakfast rode around a little bit to reminisce and were back on the road by 10:30.

Back to  scranton by 1:11 and home by 2:50pm.

If anyone ever thought about trying one i say definitely do, i need to do another one now to get my 1,000 mile certificate.

Honestly ride is easy once you commit and turn off you soul lol

But honestly something cool to say you've done.

In total i burnt 45 gallons of fuel and bike ran in ballpark of 25 hours

Thanks for reading enjoy

You had a nice comfortable bike to do it on!
I am surprised you used this much fuel. 35.57 MPG seams low to me. I think last time I checked my 750lb roadking gets +- 50MPH.

Back and fourth to work and gentle rides im doing around 45 mpg.

This ride was no less than 80mph from fill to empty running up near 6,000 rpms kinda makes her thirsty lol

Want a Butt burner I met2 Riders that started in KeyWest and ended at Fairbanks but they cheated they took the Blue Nose for a section  I met them in Homer at The Lands end.  On Harleys

My longest drive was Kodiak (ferry to Homer) to Miami beach, granted it was in a pick up.  6 days 5,500 miles all on the Govt. dime (military transfer).
