Lake Hopatcong tips

Going to fish hopatcong this week.  Never fished before and was hoping for some basic tips on fishing there this time of year.  Not looking for anyone's secret spot.

What are you looking to fish for? Hybreds, bass, walleye,etc?

Especially on fathers day weekend.  Went night fishing friday and had people flying into coves then taking off. More waves then the ocean. Should have bagged it but kept fishing. Got nothing

I don't really care what we catch as im taking out my brother in law and nephew who don't get to fish much.  I doubt we will do any night fishing.  All fishing will be during the weekdays so hopefully the boat to traffic will be less.  Thanks, Mike

Use live herring early morning, anchor up on a drop off weed bed for hybrids, use a weight on 1 rod and get the bait down to catch walleye, smallies etc...

I live minute from the lake never fished it .but the summer weekend are crazy with boat traffic. Is there any good fishing by landsend bait shop. Was thinking of renting a boat and taking the kids out.

Sunday morning  was a total shit show. Like someone  blew a whistle and everyone took off as fast as they could. Never again during daylight hours

So far so good.  Was fishing for sunnies with my 3 year old son on the dock.  I threw a little 1" curly tail grub on a jighead and got this one.  The fight was great on my trout rod with 4 pound test.  Was peeling line off like crazy on a few of the runs.
