Ruger 10-22 build advise needed

So I recently was given a Ruger 10-22 barrel, magazine and stock and nothing else. I have an original one already that I love and just realized that I now have 2 children and if I collect what I need to complete this gun. I’d have 2 guns that are perfect to introduce my girls to the shooting sports.... I’m looking to go as basic as can be and was hoping someone with some experience could give me some guidance.... Rimfirecentral is the best place for advice.

I bought engraved bolt from JWH custom. Then had brimestone do trigger work. Might be looking for whistle pig barrel next.

All depends on your pocket. Kidd and vq make nice receivers as well as you purchasing just ruger receiver.

I would get the automatice bolt release and the williams peep sight.  The extended mag release should also help.  Those three should cost you under $100 bucks and you should be good to get started.  You can literally spend thousands on customizing  a 10/22.  Sign them up for an Appleseed course when they get a little older and you will have two more marksmen, I mean markswomen in the family.

There used to be a youtube video on how to make your own auto bolt release. You just needed a dremel. You extend the loop.

 

I have the extended mag release on both of mine. Also added the auto bolt release.
