The stone columns are finally finished. The metal was installed on the roof today.
They  also prepped the front porch  today by installing the flashing and underlayment for a metal roof also.
After I install some stone on the  peak they will come back and finish20180809_200835.thumb.jpg.4eb5306c06d3a44371a9a7fd004ddf43.jpg20180809_200946.thumb.jpg.50bb0e45168927102785857390a6ecca.jpg
I'm pretty sure your gate costs more than my house lol. That's gorgeous.

Projects coming along. Plumbing and HVAC roughs have been completed. Well has been drilled. Garage and front porch slabs are being poured on Monday. Siding started yesterday and stone veneer is onsite. 20180907_073751.thumb.jpg.b51438c9b5280c075ba75b380b160272.jpg20180907_073810.thumb.jpg.f93c73c2fefc61f0633c7758285f955e.jpg20180907_073645.thumb.jpg.9a218a1773bcc5d249988fd1cbf7cdfc.jpg20180905_113749_1536161887986.thumb.jpg.a2b00b86ed176a4c6dc87224bd26e2dc.jpg20180904_192425001.thumb.jpg.d470a92b03a610d788a130a1c4633a5c.jpg

Nj
Tom,

So with that said, I've found my one biggest knock on this build. Why on earth would you put something so nice and labor intensive in this s-hole of a state? I couldn't do it.

I don’t know if you insulated yet just reading this thread further now but if you’re in between closed cell an open cell foam closed cell is a superior product for insulating capabilities and can be a much thinner application however with the closed cell if in fact you are doing the rafters you will never know if you have a roof leak until it’s too late, if not go with the extra expense of closed cell

My wife and I own a security company here in Nj. Its where we make our living. Our clients our mostly commercial and industrial sites in Nj as well. Kind of hard to get out right now. Maybe when we are ready to retire we will sell everything off. We picked up the land when real estate took a dive a few years ago. The house sits on 50 acres that is infested with deer. Kind of hard to find that kind of property in Nj any more. I am also looking at it as an investment. I figure Im saving a lot of money with no builder involved

Poured the front porch today. Going to be topped with stone.

Garage slab poured also.

Siders are making progress. 20180908_124051.thumb.jpg.5b784302b1bea9fe4321ecae38f68c03.jpg20180908_123953.thumb.jpg.e9eaa303b3992308ec4ef3c8f15c51eb.jpg20180908_110502.thumb.jpg.7c31da5c2a7d6113577669906c72e64e.jpg

Siding is moving along. Just jave the garage side and front to finish up.

Stone work to begin this weekend weather permitting. Rain is killing me again

Siding is done. I started prepping for the stone work by applying the wire mesh and a scratch coat to the top peak. Had to build a platform to work on due to the front porch peak below

I had the gate made at Trails West Gate Company.

My wife and I took one of their designs as a starting point and customized into our one of a kind design.

I did the entire installation  myself with the exception of having the hinges welded onto the posts and the gate opener brackets welded on.

You can see the installation at the link below
