Guess there is an answer to over population of deer in residential areas where no one hunts. A  friend in Bridgewater saw a new born fawn on his lawn on Monday and soon after, a coyote came out of the parkland woods and dragged it off. At least when the large tracks of woodland was hunted the deer numbers and predators were kept in check.

Does drop their fawns close to houses/humans because predators avoid humans. Fawns have a better chance of survival than in the woods where predators are snatching up an easy meal.
