Fringed Polygala (OK not rare and I might have miss-spelled Polygala)

 

Whorled Pogonia.  Found this last year after the bloom when I was delineating a long line of wetlands and walked into the adjacent forest to sit on a rock and take some notes.  Went back Saturday and they were not open.  Sent my daughter back today and this was the only one in flower.  I'll hike in Wednesday and check the others and hopefully find some small whorled pogonia's (super rare) close by.

Green-colored green treefrog on stinging nettle

Only one snake (wasn't really looking).  Northern ring-neck.

Sun came out mid-morning on Sunday so we rode the roads and moved off a bunch of turtles - mostly snapping turtles.
