Jack you have plenty of time with age for a compound. I have a friend that is 78 and still shooting a compound and climbing a tree hunting. 

But i pretty sure you can with a medical reason Not sure of the steps yet on how to get it or Iowa. I started looking into it and haven't continued looking it all up. I have to find out all the info before i put i for it.
