You are correct with your assessment:  Northern Water Snake.  Great pictures.  Notice the round pupil.  Northern Copperheads, for which northern water snakes are often confused with, have a vertical elliptical pupil, like a cat.

Last time i fished for shad on the Delaware i saw 3 together but they took off in the water before i could get a picture

Those are crazy cool pictures Greybeard.  And yes, like Little M said, that is a northern water snake.  The close up details of the scales and facial features are amazing.  :up: :up:
