All you Yankees need to head south....

In no particular order...

Pic A Lilli

Jay's elbow

Redstone

Capital grille

Head just over the Walt Whitman into south Philly and hit Ralph's

Now you're in my neck of the woods! :)

I haven't been to Jay's Elbow Room yet...it's a legendary place I hear! :)

Definitely check out donkey’s in Camden for what I consider to be the best cheesesteak around, including philly. They have a second location in Medford. Carmen’s is good, but not quite as good as it used to be. My pick for wings is Dom’s tavern in bellmawr, down the street from my house. Jays elbow and the jug handle are two land mark five bars with good wings and cheap drinks

How about Tommies Italian Sausages (hotdogs) down the 'Burg on Elizabeth Ave in downtown Elizabeth?

Toby's Cup in P'burg?

Also, during the winter months if hunting near the Gap then stop in on Alpine Meats in Blairstown for their soups - the Pea Soup is a religious experience guaranteed to send your mouth into raptures of pleasure.  Also pick up some of their landjagers (sold by the pair).  Not bad hotdogs either.

I think we do need a food stop section on this site for cool holes in the wall (of the non-glory hole variety) in addition to the more upscale ones.

Anyone with me on this?

Maybe just a thread entitled : Food Trips, make it a sticky.

Lots of good places around here.

Filomena Lakeview in Deptford for Italian food, or Cafe 2825 in A.C.

Mexico in A.C. for Mexican food

Franklinville Inn, in Franklinville

I've read the wings at the Landmark in Glassboro are the best for 100 miles, according to a few celebs, including a Food Network star who lives local.

The Amish Market in Mullica Hill has a pretty good place to sit and eat, and some of the best prepared, take-out food around.

Sabrina's cafe in Collingswood for breakfast

Gaetano's in Brooklawn for cheese steaks

Outlaw Burger Barn in Vineland for the best, gourmet, specialty burgers.

KS Italian Specialties in Brigewater - their focaccia sandwiches rock especially when you get a bit that got fried in the pan by the oil - Oh my!  I love their fresh made pasta (I cannot eat the inhuman amounts of it that I used to anymore but even moderation must be practiced in moderation...).

Kelley's in Belmar?

We Used to go there in the late 60's when I was a kid before heading home up north, the burgers were great and the pkway was jammed with only 2 lanes. Visit again in the 90's  younger crowd and loud music.  Great place to party if your not driving.

Yes E&V in Paterson, been going there since I was kid with my family, took my wife, kids and father in law there years ago....When we are in the area we still go...great food, large portions

I have never eaten there, but there is often a line waiting to get in.

Some places I like for lunch when I am out hunting in Zone 4 is the Hainesville General store in Hainsville; Dales Market; Jumboland for breakfast. All are on rt15/206. Hainesville and Jumboland used to be check stations back in the days when they had check stations

One place in that area that's really bad is the Layton General Store in Layton.  It seems it is often under new management.
