SHAD getting good

Recommended Posts

Hit the river with Chris for a few hours.

Mad dog bite from the first line in for an hour.

Two to three on at a time .

Sun came out and it was game over.

Stayed another hour without a bump .

Every fish caught on a spoon . Not  a bump on darts today

.

they are getting some in Easton today - not wild, but as the water warms, so will the fishing...  Glad you got out and kicked the winter blues in the ass!

I'm going to try further north tomorrow morning.

be happy to just find a few up there.

Or I may fish the southern Pa  trout opener , looks to be a decent day

Nice. What town were you near?

Mark - usually where we fish, the trout opener is more often than not "early" for shad, but if we get the right weather, North of Gap could be in play by then...  I have on occasion, fished the Flatbrook in morning and gone over to Peters Valley and slammed shad from shore immediately after...   If I can look back 40 years, a few years I got them before April 12th, two years ago slammed them on April 1st, but mainly it's April 12th forward...  Seems like there are a lot of fish coming up this year though - can't wait!
