Hey guys, had a tree come down in my yard due to good old Quinn...was able to cut a couple "live edge slabs" which I'm going to make a coffee table out of hoping it's quality lumber. See picture to let me know what type of tree and the quality.

Thanks in advance,

Justin

Silver Maple. My brother is making a spiral staircase out of one. It will make for a nice table.

Many years ago my sister-in-law's friend cut slabs and made coffee tables.... one for my sister-in-law.

A number of years lated they were in bed at night and heard a loud noise.

Next day they realized the table checked or cracked and thats what made the noise.

So, be sure to let it dry really good before making it.... just in case it checks.

If youre drying the wood for furniture use ....it needs to dry somewhere that has an even temperature and humidity level....
